Pixel art cooking venture
Chef RPG is a single-player pay-to-play culinary adventure where you're tasked to bring life back to the old restaurant Le Sequoia. It was a well-known diner in White Ash harbor that lost its popularity. As the title suggests, it's a role-playing game wherein players take on the role of an all-around chef. Developed by World 2 Studio, it’s available on PCs.
Chef RPG works similarly to games like Supermarket Simulator, Sun Haven, Kebab Chefs! - Restaurant Simulator, and Travellers Rest—wherein it gives players a simulation gameplay experience that showcases their creativity. In this game, you can go for a hunt, manage the restaurant, or socialize depending on your preferred strategy to revive the Le Sequoia.
Bring back Le Sequoia’s heydays
In Chef RPG, restoring the fame of Le Sequoia’s restaurant is not easy as you need to start from nothing and independently work your way to gain back the interest of many customers. This means that the future of the diner relies solely on your hands. You can choose to become a master chef who serves the most delicious dishes in the city, be an explorer, and present exquisite ingredients, or establish your social network to grow your diner through your reputation.
In this cooking game, you are also tasked to promote the restaurant to the locals by yourself by simply befriending them. Additionally, you must bring tourist customers to your restaurant as it is vital for you to rejuvenate the town’s famous spots. This way you can attract more patrons to your restaurant and to the beautiful seaside town, revitalizing its once thriving tourist destinations. As this game offers an open-world environment, you can expect an open-ended gameplay.
Inspired by a TV show
One of the features of this game wherein you need to source out your recipes on your own is based on Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape TV show. Here, you can collect 240 recipes. Other cooking games usually focus on managing the restaurant, however, in this game, it combines the elements of exploration and socialization giving players a holistic chef experience. It’s all about you and what kind of cook you want to be.
The game’s skill tree system also provides a wide variety of character builds that you can try. Additionally, you can earn skill points as well that can unlock special abilities that you can use. Players can choose their preferred playstyles as well from five modes: Restaurant, Social Hub, Pub, Confectionary, and Teahouse. Each operation style has its own unique benefits and limitations. However, as the game’s focus is on reviving a restaurant, it doesn’t have a character development feature. It is not ideal for players who are seeking purely character-driven gameplay.
Cultivate the diner your way
In Chef RPG, your decisions contain a heavy weight on the direction and outcome of the Le Sequoia restaurant’s future. This simple element allows you to fully immerse yourself in the chef character that is striving hard to save the falling business and town. Do everything by yourself and see how your business thrives again before your eyes. In this game, your chosen method can affect how the restaurant turns out.
